On 18 June, the company of the Batumi Ilia Chavchavadze State Drama Theatre comprising 10 actors traveled to Legnica, Poland where, together with 12 Polish actors they will start working on the joint performance “Georgia-Poland”. The performance is structured on differences and similarities of Polish and Georgia histories, mental sympathies of the Poles and Georgians. The project of the joint performance was being prepared for 3 years by the Artistic Director of the Batumi Ilia Chavchavadze State Drama Theatre Andro Enukidze and the head of the Legnica Theatre, Vice President of the Polish Theatrical Union Yacek Glomb, director who created a new dramatic trend, the so called “Human Theatre”. Yacek Glomb has produced 2 plays at Batumi Drama Theatre – “Haifa Hotel” and “As Many Demons as You Like”. The rehearsals will last for two weeks in Poland. Then, from 17 September, the rehearsals will be renewed in Batumi together with the Polish actors. The premiere will be held on 2 and 3 October in Batumi, 4 October in Kutaisi Lado Meskhishvili Theatre, 6 October – Rustaveli Theatre in Tbilisi. The tours with the joint performance are also planned in five cities of Poland: Katowice, Wroclaw, Warsaw, Cracow and Legnica.
