Berdia Intskirveli, Actor of Batumi Drama Theatre, Dies at the Age of 86 . . .

The actor of Batumi Ilia Chavchavadze State Drama Theater, honored artist Berdia Intskirveli died.

In 1963, after graduating from the Acting faculty of Shota Rustaveli State Theatrical Institute of Georgia, Berdia Intskirveli started working at the Ilia Chavchavadze State Drama Theater in Batumi.

Berdia Intskirveli created a number of stage roles at the Batumi Drama Theater, among which the following can be singled out: Pipicha (Soldier’s Father), Dvali (The Swimmer), Maxima (The Night Dance), Usante (The Fox and The Grapes), Inquisitor (Joan of Arc), Dazmir (In the Evening Garden as in Colorful Dream), etc. The palette of his film characters is rich - he was filmed in the following movies and TV series: “The Goal”, “Leonardo”, “The Fastest in the World”, “Bandit from the Brick Factory”, “Bata Kekia”, “The Predecessor”, “Snow in May”, “There - at My Place”, “The Night Dance”, “The Golden Spider”, “The Fortress”, “The Stupid”, “The Staircase of Virtues”, “The Opposite Bank”, etc. 

Berdia Intskiveli’s creative life is connected with many successes of Georgian theater and cinema. The artistic images created by him are an integral part of the golden foundation of the history of Georgian acting art.

He won many theater and film prizes for his fruitful work in cinema and theater, and was awarded the honorary title of the Honored Artist.
