Synopsis:
Alexi Chighvinadze’s drama “The Spineless One” stands as one of the most significant works in contemporary Georgian dramaturgy.
Mental confrontation is both the theme of this play and the point at which the conflict of worldviews reaches its highest degree.
It appears that director Gaga Goshadze was guided by precisely these criteria in his search for dramatic material: the play had to emerge from Georgian reality, be thematically relevant and incisive, genre-consistent, and, above all, possess the quality that leaves no spectator indifferent.
